*The free Tuesday Night Tasting at Bierkraft in Park Slope is a special one this week, showcasing the 11th Anniversary Ale that the Bierkraft brewed at Barrier in Oceanside. They’ll be pouring this smoked Berliner Weisse-style beer along with four others promptly at 7 pm – there is limited space, so get there early to ensure your seat.

*Jimmy’s No 43 in the East Village hosts a Cider Salon Fundraiser with Breezy Hill Orchard tonight from 6-9 pm. Breezy Hill is in the midst of a Kickstarter campaign to raise money to rebuild their historic Cider House. Your $15 (cash requested) entrance fee will go towards the rebuild and get you admission to the back room of Jimmy’s for a barrel tasting of spring release hard ciders and a discussion on the cider making process. There will be additional cider on tap for purchase, with T-shirts, note cards and brew kits for sale.


*The Ploughman in South Park Slope has a Rowan Imports Cider tasting today from 5 to 8 pm. Free samples and growlers for sale.


Saturday the 11th:

**Alewife NYC in Long Island City hosts the 2nd Annual Get Real Presents “Beer Balls” Meatball and Craft Beer Festival today. There are two sessions, from noon to 3 pm and 4 to 7 pm. The $40 ticket gets you unlimited beer tastings from 30 different breweries and 10 tastes of meatballs prepared by some of the best NYC Chefs. Please visit the site for a list of participating restaurants and breweries and to purchase your tickets.


**Brazen Head in Boerum Hill has their annual Spring Clam Shuck today from 5 to 10 pm. They’ll have Little Neck Clams at $5.00 for 1/2 Dozen, Blue Point Oysters for $1 each and self-serve “Chowdas” for $5. They’ll be pouring Long Island beers from Blue Point, Southampton & Greenport Harbor.
