Monday the 20th:

*The VSK (Very Special Keg) tonight at The Blind Tiger in the Village is the Hill Farmstead James, a black IPA, and will be tapped at 5 pm.


***Taproom 307 in Gramercy has a Brasserie Bourganel event tonight. Chef Stephen Durley will be preparing four small dishes to pair with four of the draft Bourganel beers – the pairing is available for $20. I’m sure beers will be available by the glass as well.


*Valhalla in Hell’s Kitchen has a Flying Dog event tonight starting at 6 pm. Flying Dog CEO John Caruso will be guest bartending and there will be $5 Doggie Styles along with some other special Flying Dog beers.

*Brouwerij Lane in Greenpoint has a Meadowlark Nights event beginning at 7 pm. Jim “Bock” Barnes will be spinning tunes and the new Pretty Things Meadowlark IPA will star.


*The Bronx Brewery launches their newest beer at Randolph Beer in Little Italy tonight from 7 to 10 pm. Bronx Brewery GM Chris Gallant and Brewer Damian Brown will be on hand to discuss the Bronx Rye Pale Ale which will be served on draft alongside the brewery’s flagship beer, Bronx Pale Ale. Cask versions of both beers will be available as well.


**(added 8/22) Barcade Jersey City hosts a Smuttynose event tonight beginning at 5 pm. The list (complete with Barcade’s descriptions):

**Sweetwolf’s in Park Slope has a Blue Crab Feast with Lagunitas at 6 pm. $35 for all-you-can-eat-and-drink includes Chesapeake Bay Blue Crabs boiled with Lagunitas Czech Style Pilsner and fresh Old Bay, Corn, Boiled Red Potatoes and other fixin’s alongside Lagunitas Fusion 9 and more Lagunitas beers.

September 1: Pig Island returns to Governors Island from 11:30 am to 4 pm today. 80 pigs will be cooked by 25 of NYC’s best chefs plus Sixpoint beers, a biscuit throwdown, wine & cider offerings, music & more. Tickets range from $70 to $115 and are available here.


September 2: Sunday PicNYC on Governors Island from 11:30 am to 4 pm. Food trucks, Sixpoint beers, live music & more. $20 tickets gets you admission plus 3 beers and/or wines.


September 8: Barrels & Kegs comes to Rockaway Beach today from noon to 5 pm. Tickets are $28 and net you 20 4-oz beer samples from local breweries. Food & additional tastes available for purchase.


September 15: Freaktoberfest moves to Greenwood Park in South Park Slope this year from noon to 5 pm. This festival is always a ton of fun and I’m sure this year will be no different. Tickets are $60 and get you access to lots of craft beer, live music, and freak show & burlesque performances.


September 22: Josh Bernstein is throwing a Homebrew Hullabaloo to celebrate the 3rd Anniversary of his homebrew tours at Goodbye Blue Monday in Bushwick from 2 to 6 pm. Tickets are $30 and entitle you to excellent homebrews, a plate of food, music & more.


October 6: The Village Voice brings Brooklyn Pour back to Skylight One Hanson in Fort Greene today. Two sessions, from 1 to 4 and 6-9, with $65 VIP and $45 GA ticket options. Over 100+ beers will be poured during the event, VIP ticket holders also get complimentary food, exclusive drinks and a gift bag. Food will be available for purchase as well.
