Tuesday the 10th:

Head to Williamsburg for Sip ‘n’ Slurp, a beer & oyster pairing, at the Brooklyn Brewery, presented by W&T Seafood and the brewery.  Tickets are $45 online or $55 at the door and entitles you to a guided tasting with Garrett Oliver & Nellie Wu of 6 different beers and a dozen oysters (2 each of 6 different types).  Additional beer & oysters will be available for purchase.  Tickets are available here.

One Mile House on the Lower East Side will be pouring six different Founders beers tonight, including the rare Kentucky Breakfast Stout.  There will be samples and giveaways as well, beginning at 7 pm.   The tap list:

Original Sin Founder & President Gidon Coll will be pouring his ciders at tonight’s Tuesday Night Tasting at Bierkraft in Park Slope at 7 pm.

The theme for tonight’s $10 Tuesday Tastings at Jimmy’s No 43 in the East Village is yeast cultures.  Six different beers will be poured at 7:30 pm.

Wednesday the 11th:

Favorite brewery comes to favorite bar: The Blind Tiger in the Village is hosting Greenport Harbor for the first time today beginning at 3 pm.  The GH brew crew will be there along with this list:

There’s a beer & cheese pairing at Top Hops Beer Shop on the Lower East Side tonight.  Poul Price of Consider Bardwell Farm (West Pawlet, VT) will pair his cheeses with beers from Smuttynose in two sessions – 6:30 to 8 and 8:30 to 10:00.  The cost is $25 per person, reservations are first come first serve and can be made by emailing beer@tophops.com.

The Queen’s Kickshaw in Astoria is giving their first Homebrewing Class tonight.  Matthew Schaefer, local homebrew and author of “The Illustrated Guide to Brewing Beer – A Comprehensive Handbook of Beginning Homebrewing”, is leading the classes.  The classes are $15 each or $40 for all three.  There are three planned:

  • April 11 – From grain to glass, understanding the brewing process (This class explores the brewing process as it relates to both commercial brewing and homebrewing)
  • April 18 – Introduction to homebrewing (This class will equip you with the basics of brewing beer at home)
  • April 25 – Making your next beer better than your last (By the end of this class, you’ll be able to improve your homebrews)

The Bronx Brewery is releasing their new Bourbon Barrel Aged Bronx Pale Ale at Cafe D’Alsace tonight from 6 to 8 pm.  Head Brewer Damian Brown & GM Chris Gallant will be on hand to discuss this limited-edition beer and Cafe D’Alsace beer sommelier Gianni Cavicchi will be pouring samples.  The Bronx Pale Ale was aged in an American Oak Woodford Reserve Bourbon barrel for several months to create this beer – only 300 individually-numbered 22-oz bottles will be sold in the city.

Rye House in the Union Square area is having a Stone event tonight beginning at 6 pm.  The list:

The $10 Tasting at Idle Hands in the East Village tonight features Captain Lawrence Brewing. $10 at the bar between 7 & 10 pm gets you: two full pours of Liquid Gold and the Imperial IPA, tastes of Extra Gold, Freshchester Pale Ale and one other TBD, a taste of a bourbon, and a an order of Tater Tots from That Burger with specially made dipping sauce made with a beer from Two Brothers.

There’s a #GoogleHappyHour at Randolph Beer in Nolita from 7 to 9 pm.  Learn about Google Places & possibly get a free drink (150 will be given away tonight).

Thursday the 12th:

Bierkraft in Park Slope is featuring beers from Ballast Point at tonight’s tap takeover beginning at 7 pm.  The list:

Friday the 13th:

Morton’s Steakhouse in Midtown is hosting a beer & hors d’ouevres with Brooklyn Brewery tonight at 6 pm.  The menu:

Tuna Tartare Canapes
Paired with Sorachi Ace

Sliced Tenderloin
Paired with Brooklyn Lager

Petite Lamb Chops
Paired with Winter Ale

Double Chocolate Mousse Cups

Saturday the 14th:

Brooklyn Brewery in Williamsburg is throwing a Brooklyn Blackout Party tonight from 9 pm to 2 am.  $20 gets you unlimited taps of Mary’s Maple Porter & Dry Irish Stout, a Midnight Tasting of vintage Black Chocolate Stout, Blackout cupcakes from Ovenly while DJ Seek10 spins dark dance music.  Tickets can be purchased in the brewery store or here.

Today begins the Second Annual Brooklyn Beer Summit – eight events at eight different bars in Brooklyn for the next eight days. The Second Annual Oyster Shuck & Cask Festival kicks it all off at Bierkraft in Park Slope.  From noon to 3 pm, enjoy fresh oysters while sipping cask beers from these breweries:

Day 2 of the Brooklyn Beer Summit moves to Sycamore in Ditmas Park for a Chicago Brews & BBQ event.  From noon to 6, they’ll be pouring five Chicago beers from Goose Island & Two Brothers and serving up Chicago-style hot dogs.  They’ll be giving away the first 50 for free.  Otherwise, hots dogs are $3 and all pints are $5.
