Monday the 2nd:

Taproom 307 in Gramercy is hosting a beer and food pairing with Kuhnhenn beers from tonight.  Beer sommelier Hayley Jensen & Chef Stephen Durley have designed this menu:

Head to Long Island City tonight for an all-night Bacon & Beer Happy Hour at Rest-au-Rant.  From 4 pm til close on the first Monday of every month, R’A’R Bar will be offering bacon and beer specials, including something from the Aecht Schlenkerla Brewery tonight.  Oh, and bacon cocktails.


Tonight’s VSK (Very Special Keg) at the Blind Tiger in the Village is the Hill Farmstead Society and Solitude.  Tapped at 5 pm – get there early to ensure that you get your share.


Tuesday the 3rd:

There’s an Ommegang beer dinner tonight at 6 pm in the Lobby Bar of the Washington Square Hotel in the Village. Executive Chef Yoel Cruz of the adjacent North Square Restaurant is preparing this menu:

Head to Park Slope for a slider & beer pairing tonight.  67 Burger Park Slope has teamed up with Sixpoint Brewery to build this menu:

Wednesday the 4th:

61 Local in Cobble Hill launches a new monthly series tonight at 7 pm.  The Meet Your Maker Series will feature beers from Kelso of Brooklyn paired with foodstuffs from a local purveyor.  Tonight’s pairing features artisanal Hudson Valley cheeses from Saxelby Cheesemongers. Kelso owner Kelly Taylor will narrate the tasting and attendees will pick their favorite pairing.  The winning pairing will go on to compete at the July 11 finale tasting.  Each session is $35, tickets can be purchased here with proceeds going to benefit the Brownsville Student Farm Project.

Taste beers brewed in New York while enjoying the Made in New York exhibition at the NYC Beer Showcase at the South Street Seaport Museum tonight at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $15 for non-members, but if you enter the code “Craft44”, you’ll get them for $10.


Mosaic Cafe & Lounge in Astoria has a Founders KBS Release Party + Pairing tonight beginning at  pm.  KBS taps at 8:30 pm.

The Thursday Tap at Jimmy’s No 43 in the East Village is a Sierra Nevada Beer Camp beer, brewed by a group that included my friend John Holl (esteemed journalist & author).  The Transporter is a 4.9% dark ale brewed with Pale two-row, Chocolate, Munich & Golden Promise malts and Magnum, US Challenger & Golding hops.  The porter was dry-hopped with Aurora & Strisselspalt and will be served on nitro-pour to evoke the creamy, smooth quality of British cask ales.


Head to Breukelen Bier Merchants in Williamsburg between 7 and 10 pm to sip on these Spider Bite brews

*The Beer n’ Balls Festival is today!  Put on by Get Real Events (disclaimer: I am a proud investor in this company), this is a craft beer and food festival like no other in NYC.  The theme is meatballs for this one and we’ve got 11 of the city’s coolest chefs creating edible round bites of all kinds.  There will be over 40 different craft beers pouring and tasting seminars throughout each session (I’m giving one on sours).  There are a limited number of tickets still available but we expect this fest to sell out soon.  The details:  two sessions – day session, VIP beginning at noon, general session from 1-4 pm and night session, VIP beginning at 6, general session from 7-10 pm.  The festival is at 404 Space in Hells Kitchen.  Tickets and more information can be found here.
