Tuesday the 13th:

Cooper’s Craft & Kitchen in the East Village has a beer pairing dinner tonight. This looks like a winner – 4 courses for $40, drop in anytime between 7 & 9 pm:

Bierkraft in Park Slope is showcasing the lovely Long Island brewery, Greenport Harbor, in their free Tuesday night tasting which begins promptly at 7. Get there early to get a seat and try:

  • Chinook’red (Newest Project Hoppiness IPA)
  • English IPA
  • Black Duck Porter
  • Anti-Freeze
  • 2010 Triton on cask, dry-hopped with Citra hops

The Pony Bar in Hell’s Kitchen has a neat event tonight. Not only will they be pouring twenty draft lines & 2 casks of fabulous Victory beers, but they’ll be serving a special Prima Pils clone beer that was brewed recently at Bitter & Esters, a homebrew store & brew-on-premise in Brooklyn. This clone was brewed using the same recipe & ingredients that Victory uses and when you order a Prima tonight, you’ll get an 8-oz pour of the clone to compare it with. The fun begins at 6 pm.


Wednesday the 14th:

I’ll be at the Malted Barley Appreciation Society’s annual holiday meeting tonight at Mug’s Ale House in Williamsburg, featuring beers from the Shelton Brothers. They’ll be lots of samples as well as Mug’s sweet draft offerings – the celebration begins at 7:30 pm.


Idle Hands in the East Village is featuring Ommegang and Liefmans in their “Naughty & Nice” Sweet & Sour tasting tonight. Drop in between 7 & 10 pm, drop $10 at the bar and get this in return: full pours of the Ommegang Rare Vos and Liefmans Cuvee Brut, tastes of the Liefmans Goudenband, Ommegang Abbey & Ommegang 3 Philosophers , a taste of bourbon and an order of of Tater Tots from That Burger w specially made dipping sauce made with one of the featured beers.


Thursday the 15th:

The always epic Winter Beer Night returns to Barcade in Williamsburg tonight at 5 pm. Yep (with Barcade’s notes included, of course):

Beyond Kombucha in Astoria is the first alchoholic kombucha brewery to be licensed on the East Coast. They are debuting their first alcoholic offering, Mava Roka, at Queens Kickshaw in Astoria tonight from 6 to 9 pm.  Mava Roka a maple vanilla rooibos kombucha ale clocking in at 6.3% ABV.  Meet the brewmasters and get your taste of NYC’s first legal alcoholic kombucha.

The Battle of the Belgians returns to Jimmy’s No 43 in the East Village today from 1 to 5 pm.
